Proud to have successfully delivered the commissioning of a 106 MW DEIF Power Management System (PPU3) onboard BP’s FPSO Glen Lyon at Hyundai Heavy Industries, Ulsan, South Korea.
The Glen Lyon is one of the world’s largest harsh-environment FPSOs, operating west of Shetland as part of BP’s Quad 204 redevelopment project—designed to produce up to 130,000 barrels of oil per day in challenging North Sea conditions.
The system integrates: ✅ 4 × Dresser-Rand 25 MW Gas Turbine Generators (GTG) ✅ 2 × Wärtsilä 2.5 MW Standby Diesel Generators (SDG) ✅ 1 × MAN 1 MW Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG)
We led the commissioning process and managed a team of 9 electricians, ensuring precise configuration, synchronization, and load-sharing logic across all generation assets. Delivered full FAT/SAT compliance, blackout prevention strategies, and seamless integration with vessel automation systems—meeting BP standards and classification society requirements for offshore reliability and safety.
Projects like this demonstrate the importance of leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration in delivering complex energy solutions for the world’s most demanding environments.
