CAT Power Module Install & Commission (West Africa)

Thrilled to share one of the most logistically demanding offshore missions we've tackled: installing and commissioning a CAT 1MW rental power module onboard the Avouma oil rig off the coast of Gabon.

🛠️ The Challenge: The rig’s crane was deemed unreliable for lifting a full-size generator. That meant we had to rethink everything—fast.

📦 Our 3-Stage Solution: 1️⃣ Disassembly on Land – The generator was stripped into modular components within 24 hours. Every bolt, panel, and cable was cataloged for offshore reassembly. 2️⃣ Offshore Transport & Lift – Components were shipped to the rig and craned aboard individually, working within the rig’s limited lifting capacity. 3️⃣ Reassembly & Commissioning – Onboard, the unit was rebuilt from the ground up, installed, and commissioned to deliver stable power under demanding conditions.

⏱️ This project demanded precision planning, rapid execution, and seamless coordination between engineering, logistics, and offshore teams.

Outcome: A fully operational CAT 1MW power module, installed under extreme constraints—proving that with the right team and mindset, no challenge is too big.
