Delivered a full engine control system retrofit for two Yanmar 600 kW propulsion engines aboard a UK-based coastal pusher tug. The project involved replacing outdated control components with a marine class-approved automation suite, including a new Marine CPU, Marine HMI, Safety Module, and Redundancy Interface. The retrofit significantly enhanced operational reliability, diagnostics, and fuel efficiency, while ensuring compliance with classification society standards. Scope of work included complete replacement of both engine and gearbox wiring harnesses, along with the installation of new remote control stations on the bridge to improve operator interface and maneuverability. This project was executed as part of a broader multi-region modernization initiative, aimed at extending vessel service life and ensuring long-term system resilience in demanding coastal and nearshore operations.
At Bartech Controls (UK), we fabricate control panels to meet a range of international standards depending on the project scope and location: (a) BS EN 61439 for UK/EU low-voltage assemblies, (b) UKCA and CE marking for regulatory compliance, (c) Marine class approvals including ABS, DNV, and Lloyd’s Register etc.
